Dinner with a Perfect Friend

I recently read a short and fascinating book called Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. It’s an intriguing account of a dinner conversation between a cynical businessman and Jesus.

I felt I needed to title my post “Dinner with a Perfect Friend” since that’s my relationship with Him. I can laugh and cry with Him and call in the middle of the night if I want to. I call him Friend, Encourager, Teacher & Counselor to name a few.

If you think of Him as a polite stranger, a judgmental father or just a wise man, this book’s for you. Really. I want you to read it and tell me what you think of it. Just leave me a comment (be sure to leave your email address) and I’ll send it to you. I only have one copy so it’s for the first to speak up.

I’ll leave you with a smile by quoting a T-shirt I saw in a gift shop this week:

JESUS LOVES YOU …
          but I’m His favorite.

Beverly - that is MY favorite t-shirt. I've blogged about it twice, just because I can't resist it.

I don't want to enter for the book, becuase God is SO much more than a perfect stranger to me. Although I could pass it on to a certain sister, who is still in the seeking stages. Hmmm.

Anyway - Glad you are back from your trip, and you are doing great at blogging every day!

I am reading a book right now and will giving it away, probably Friday. So stop by then. (if not before!!!!)

Stumbled onto your blog because I spend way too much time on the internet. I've heard of this book, but haven't read it. I'll have to check it out. Have you read The Shack? Life-changing as well.

Hey Beverly! Welcome back. Glad you made it home safe and sound. Happy birthday to your grandma. Wow 102. My grandma is 94 and is always wondering why she's still here. LOL!

I will pass on the give-away this time but thanks!

Hi. I've been finding reading material for my 17 year old to help guide him with his faith. This sounds like another book that would be good for him.

As for the t-shirt. WAHAHAHA. As CK said, that is her favorite t-shirt. I thought of her immediately!

Hi Girl,
I have this book!
It is one of my favorites!
I have even read it to my students at school!
There is a sequel and a DVD (but the inquiring character is female instead of male)

It truly is one of the most amazing books I have ever read!

THanks for sharing!
Pamela
