Still Crazy After All These Years

Hillary is hosting a “crazy” blog carnival. (That’s the theme.) If there was ever a blog carnival that had my name on it – this is it. Here’s just a few pieces of evidence:

My sister and I can still sing every single word of the Joni Mitchell Song “ Twisted” without accompaniment and perfectly together. We love it. Oh mercy- some of you probably don't know this title as it was popular in the 70's. I was barely born then. ; ) Never mind that the title of this post is an Eagle’s song from the same era. Era- that word sounds old - but of course, I'm not. Call me delusional, but don't call me old.

I'll dance as if no one is watching, even if they are. My youngest child has been known to scold me and say “don’t EVER do that again”. Party pooper.

I call it “The Drama Gene”, which dictates that I’m not easily embarrassed. This doesn’t bode well for those shy people in my company. I love to laugh and do so too loudly, I’m pretty sure.

My mind can be like a Lazy Susan. It's full of good stuff. If I can't reach it at the moment, it will come back around.

One of my favorite cards, given to me by Uncommon Blonde several years ago, has the photo below with the inscription: Happy Mother’s Day to my very glamorous, sometimes goofy, always glorious Mom. I love it.
For lots of versions of crazy, visit Hillary’s place… you’ll meet some of my friends over there. My mama always said “you’re known by the company you keep” and “birds of a feather flock together.”

By the way, did you know that Joie de vivre is a lovely translation for “she’s a little crazy”?

THAT is a fantastic card! I think it's great you always laugh too loud - those are the best kind of laughs! :-)

We should be friends! I'm a loud laugher and singer, too! My 4 year old recently asked me to stop singing if there are other people around. HA! I would SO love to hear you and your sister singing! How much fun.
Video, maybe?? :)
Thanks so much for joining in on the crazy! We're glad to have you!

Love the card. The fun singing sounds great. I don't sing, but my sister and I can laugh hysterically over the silliest thing. Then comes the snorts and the tears... the children run for cover or embarrassment (o:

I am one of those shy people, but I wouldn't be embarrassed...I'd be seeking out your company so I could dance outside my comfort zone with wild abandon! I have often been told "I knew you were here...I heard your laugh"...so I am thinking that means I too have a loud laugh (along my loud singing voice) I think you me and Hillary are destined to meet some day. :)

One of my four little ones as an infant would cry every time I sang a lullaby. So get this!

Hi - interesting to see you're a florida girl - grew up in North Palm Beach, Fl and went to school at FSU - now live in NC
I always tell my kids that it's my job as a mom to embarrass them:)

I'm not sure about playing the crazy game...I LIVE it! lol.

I embarrass my youngest sister (ET)whenever we go out because I talk to everyone, She will be trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible and I'm talking to strangers on the elevator, people in line at the store, or anybody else that will listen....or at least pretend to.

Somehow I think FUN would be a much better adjective for you than crazy.

OK, Maybe a little crazy. My friend and I have come to the conclusion that we are crazy. The good kind...not the bad kind! (well, most of the time!)

My mind is like a lazy susan too. Except it is like the kind when the kids are playing with it and keep spinning it around as fast as possible and then stop it suddenly and start spinning it the other way...what were we talking about??

I just read your comment. haha.
I never did anything crazy.

OK, That was a lie.

I just can't think of any good ones....except the REALLY good ones and I think I'll keep them to myself. haha again.

See ya!

love your crazy post.
And I'm going to add "joie de vivre" to my vocabulary. I can use it when I'm talking about my mother, and she'll never know what i'm saying! :)

I love this! I like to laugh! RM and I went to see 'The Hangover' this weekend and I giggle through the whole thing. Especially the stunt steak.

When my Bro took his kids to see 'Over the Hedge' he asked his youngest if he liked the movie. He said 'Yeah, but not as much as Aunt Murry'

Love it love it love it!

Dearest Friend,
How can I express to you how much your visit with your husband meant to me?
I needed a faithful, intercessor and in you two walked!

We have Andrew on a day pass at the hotel today and plan to go home tomorrow.
Love,
Melanie
